Your nonstick cookware care guide

Good care helps your Castirons granite-look nonstick cookware stay ready for everyday meals. The recommendations below are general guidance for this set. Read and follow the product-specific instructions included with your cookware, and contact us if a use or temperature rating is unclear.

Before the first meal

Unpack all five cooking vessels, three lids and four protectors. Check that nothing has been damaged in transit. Remove packaging and labels, wash cooking surfaces gently with warm water and mild dish soap, rinse and dry. Do not cook with a cracked lid, loose handle or visibly damaged cooking surface; contact us for help.

Cook with considered heat

Use low to medium heat for routine cooking and choose a burner suited to the pan base. Avoid prolonged empty heating, unattended cookware and flames extending around the pan. Induction, gas, electric and ceramic compatibility is shown in the supplied product information; an induction hob still needs to recognize the pan base on the chosen cooking zone.

Use a small amount of oil or fat as appropriate for your recipe. Nonstick does not mean that every food will release without any oil or attention. Results depend on ingredients, heat and care. Handles and lids can become hot; use dry oven mitts and keep cookware stable and out of the reach of children.

Choose gentle utensils

Wood, silicone and nylon utensils are the preferred everyday tools for a nonstick cooking surface. Avoid knives, sharp edges, metal whisks and other tools that can scratch the coating. Do not cut or chop food inside a pan.

Clean after the cookware cools

Let each pan cool naturally. Sudden changes from a hot pan to cold water can damage cookware. Wash by hand with warm water, mild soap and a soft sponge. For residue, soak the cooled pan briefly before gently cleaning. Avoid steel wool, abrasive powders, harsh cleaners and aggressive scraping. Dry completely before putting the set away.

Store with the included protectors

Place a protector between pans when stacking to cushion the cooking surfaces. Store lids so that their glass and rims are protected from knocks. Keep cookware clean and dry and avoid placing heavy objects directly against the nonstick finish.

Oven, broiler and dishwasher use

An oven-safe temperature, broiler suitability and dishwasher rating have not been confirmed for this set. Use the cookware on the stovetop and hand-wash it. Do not assume that a wood-look handle or glass lid is safe in an oven. Only use additional methods if the manufacturer instructions supplied with your exact product expressly permit them.

When something does not look right

Stop using a pan with a loose handle, a cracked lid or a cooking surface that appears damaged or is flaking. Contact [email protected] with the order number and a clear description or photograph. We can help assess an order problem under the Return & Refund Policy.
